I spent far too much time and at the same time not enough diving into all of this this week. It didn’t take me long to realize they never read the books. Which makes me question why they are even bothering to go so hard on something they don’t read, other than to advance other agendas that work alongside this. What’s worse, is how manipulative they are to mommy groups and the lengths they go to lie.
Every time Rep. Patterson was asked to name an example of a book (for any reason), he came up empty. Except for Gender Queer. Oh, and he did mention Hank the Cowdog and the Goosebumps series as books he'd be okay with leaving in schools. Just very, very little thought given to this by someone who said he's been working on it for 18 months.
I even brought up some of those 90s books like Goosebumps to a few book banners on Twitter, hell, even mentioned teen magazines I KNOW they read then and even linked the current seventeen magazine links in sex and reproductive health and *crickets* on the replies. They know they are being disingenuous and manipulative.
